Reliance aspires to achieve 15% women workforce by 2030

Reliance Industries prioritizes diversity with a goal of 15% women workforce by 2030, showcasing innovative policies and inclusive culture.

MUMBAI: Mukesh Ambani Led Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), largest private sector company and 1st Indian company featured in Fortune Global 500 list, aspires to achieve 15% women workforce by 2030, revealed latest Annual Report.

RIL claimed that it has Best-in-class policies for women employees.

It has 1,226 female permanent employees which represent 5.07% of its total permanent work force i.e. 24,167, as on 31st March, 2017 revealed Annual Report, 2016-17. It focuses on three aspects of diversity: gender diversity, multigenerational diversity and inclusivity.

RIL women workforce increased by 220.6%, however total work force increased by 209.3% in the last five years.

As per the report, RIL provides equal opportunity for employees and employs people from 21 nationalities including 95 foreign nationals in its leadership team.

“Reliance recognises and respects different cultures, national origin, race, religion and sexual orientation.”, report said.

The Integrated Annual Report has been prepared in line with the International Integrated Reporting Framework laid down by the International Integrated Reporting Council.

Maternity leave and part-time working opportunity

RIL promotes diversity. Dedicated to special needs of women in the workforce, It has laid emphasis on implementing next-generation policies like 6 monthโ€™s maternity leave followed by 6 monthโ€™s part-time working to help new mothers balance child-care priorities with work.

It has undertaken pro-active measures such as 24×7 toll-free helpline for women, reserved parking for expectant mothers, self-defense workshop among others.

R-Aadya is a common platform for women employees to connect, converse and collaborate. R-Aadya is designed to give them opportunities through its 4 pillars which include providing mentorship conversations, leadership interactions, forums and conferences and trainings and workshops (Classroom and E-learnings).

Employed 71 Differently abled employees

Report said that company supports and creates awareness on employing differently abled employees. The total number of permanent employees with disabilities as on 31st March 2017 was 71 at RIL.

RIL continues to attract top talent in the industry and has emerged as the biggest private sector employer which has created employment for 1.4 lakh individuals. Through Jio, employment opportunities were created for more than 50 lakh people.
