Fidelity Cares has supported Miyawaki forests, lake restoration, recharge wells and community clean-up drives in Bengaluru and Chennai
BENGALURU (India CSR): Fidelity Investments India is strengthening its sustainability commitment through Fidelity Cares, its community relations program that encourages associates to contribute to environmental and social causes in the communities where they live and work. Fidelity Cares reflects Fidelity Investments India’s approach to sustainability through employee participation and community partnerships. By working with non-profit organizations and associate-led groups, Fidelity Cares has been able to support sustainability efforts in cities where its associates live and work.
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, Fidelity Cares highlighted several sustainability initiatives undertaken in India. These efforts focus on urban biodiversity, water conservation, lake restoration, groundwater recharge and waste removal through employee volunteering.
Fidelity Cares provides associates with opportunities to create a positive impact beyond the workplace. In India, the program has placed strong emphasis on sustainable action and environmental awareness.
The initiatives are aimed at protecting ecology, improving urban green cover, supporting water security and encouraging responsible civic participation.
Aditya Ramprasad, Head of Regional Public Affairs and Community Relations, Fidelity Investments India, said: “Through Fidelity Cares, our associates gain awareness of sustainability issues and contribute to programs aimed at protecting the environment and ecology we live in, for the benefit of future generations to follow.”
One of the major sustainability initiatives supported by Fidelity Cares is the creation of urban mini forests through the Miyawaki method.

In collaboration with a non-profit organization, Fidelity has contributed to planting over 180,000 saplings across Bengaluru and Chennai. Over the last eight years, this initiative has helped create 20 urban mini forests.
The Miyawaki method is known for developing dense, fast-growing native forests in limited urban spaces. Fidelity’s support has contributed to improving biodiversity and strengthening green infrastructure in cities.
The creation of 20 urban mini forests is a significant environmental intervention in two of India’s major urban centres. These forests help improve local ecology, support native species and contribute to cleaner urban surroundings.
Such projects are especially important in cities facing pressure from rapid urbanization, shrinking green spaces and rising climate-related concerns.
Fidelity Cares has also supported two lake rejuvenation initiatives in Bengaluru during 2025 and 2026.
These projects were carried out in association with a non-profit organization. The focus was on strengthening hydrological resilience, restoring ecological balance and creating safe and accessible public spaces.
Lake restoration is a key sustainability measure in urban areas. It helps improve water systems, supports biodiversity and enhances community access to natural spaces.
Water security is another important area of Fidelity Cares’ environmental work.

In association with a non-profit organization, Fidelity Cares has contributed to constructing over 300 percolation recharge wells in Bengaluru and Chennai over the last two years.
These recharge wells are designed to improve groundwater levels. They help rainwater percolate into the ground and address the challenge of depleting groundwater in urban areas.
The initiative supports the larger goal of building sustainable communities through better water conservation practices.
Fidelity Cares has also promoted employee volunteering through plog runs.
During Plastic Free July last year, Fidelity associates participated in plog runs organized in association with the Associate Sustainability Network (ASN), one of Fidelity’s associate business resource groups.
As part of these activities, associates removed non-biodegradable waste from beaches and lakes in Bengaluru and Chennai.
The initiative combined fitness, volunteering and environmental responsibility. It also reflected the company’s effort to encourage associates to take part in meaningful community-led sustainability action.
