Support directed towards the State’s flood relief and rehabilitation efforts
GUWAHATI (India CSR®): Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a public sector government-owned commercial bank headquartered in Chennai, has contributed Rs. 50 lakh to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to support flood relief and rehabilitation efforts in the state, the bank said.
A delegation from IOB’s Guwahati Regional Office presented the contribution to the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. The delegation comprised Rajiv Kumar, Chief Regional Manager; Anurag Singh Kshatriya, Assistant General Manager; and Pushkar Singh, Chief Manager, the bank added.
On the Bank’s support to the relief effort, Ajay Kumar Srivastava, Managing Director & CEO, Indian Overseas Bank, stated, “The Bank stands in solidarity with the people of Assam at this difficult time. Our contribution to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is intended to strengthen the State Government’s ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts in the affected districts, and we remain ready to assist our customers in the affected districts.”
The contribution reflects Indian Overseas Bank’s continuing commitment to standing with communities during times of crisis.
Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) was founded on February 10, 1937, by M.Ct.M. Chidambaram Chettyar, a pioneer in various fields. In 1969, IOB was one of the 14 major banks nationalised by the Indian Government. At present, IOB has a strong domestic presence of 3522 Branches with around 3691 ATMs and also provides services across India in four countries: Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Sri Lanka with a Trust of more than 46+ million active customers in the Bank’s fold.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the Operating Profit of the Bank was Rs. 2,693 crores, and the Net Profit was Rs. 1,659 crores.
