Styling Tips for Wearing an Oversized Shirt the Right Way

Oversized shirts can be a fashion statement by themselves or make you look unkempt. Everything depends on how you’ve styled them. And lucky you, if this gives you moral support: you do not have to be a stylist to pull this off. You just need a few smart tricks, an ounce of confidence, and a dash of personality to work it out for yourself.

Start With the Fit

While it says “oversized,” there is indeed a difference between stylishly loose and outright baggy. The shirt should just rub off a bit off your shoulders rather than shake your body. If it goes way past your knees until your palms are hidden by virtue of being way too large, maybe think again about it. Think one or two sizes bigger than what you usually wear. This is what we call that sweet spot.

Balance Is Everything

Considering the shirt is oversized, balance must be given to the pants. Best are thin or straight-cut jeans, chinos, or joggers. An oversized shirt paired with baggy pants can completely ruin the look. And yet fitted bottoms will let the outfit look sleek and can be fine with the oversized shirt taking the center stage.

I saw a guy at a coffee shop once wearing a really cool oversized shirt with slim black jeans and spotless sneakers. He looked like a fashion icon from a magazine walking around without actually trying. That is the kind of vibe that you aspire to achieve.

Roll Your Sleeves

There appears to be just something about rolled-up sleeves that spell cool. Be it for a totally relaxed look or one that has some measure of posing, rolling the sleeves form some shape for the shirt, sometimes really just showing off the forearms. The drawback is that they may start to give a more rugged look and take away from the relaxed feeling. This works well on hot sunny days or casual events.

Layering

Over-size shirts make good layering pieces to be worn over a plain white tee or tank top. Leave it open for relaxed street style. If the weather chills up a little, just wear a hoodie underneath and allow the shirt to take on a lightweight jacket role. You get extra style points for layering patterns and solid colours the right way.

Accessories Are Important

Throw in a watch, chain, or a cap. When you keep it simple, an accessory will make a big impact with your oversized chosen. They bring all attention to your style, expressing that you cared to work on your look. Clean kicks or boots that are on point are just icing on the cake.

Conclusion

Oversized shirts are much more than just style statements. They mean comfort, attitude, glamor, and personality bundled in one. Your entire outfit can go up-and-out with just the right oversized fit, whether you are going somewhere or just staying at home. If you are after the hottest oversized looks without draining your pockets, then Getketch is your best bet with clothes that are trendy, really easy to put on, and just made for comfort. Try it out, mix it up, and wear it your way.
