Lanjigarh (Odisha): The Website of Lanjigarh Project Area Development Foundation (LPADF) has been launched today by Revenue Divisional Commissioner (South) LM Nayak, IAS, in presence of District Collector of Kalahandi and Director of LPADF, Ms. Roopa Mishra, IAS and Dr. Mukesh Kumar, another Director of LPADF. The website was launch during the sixth meeting of the Board of Directors to review the status of the development projects by the Foundation to. The website can be accessed at www.lpadf.org and gives detail information about its projects, organizations, and photographs.
The LPADF is a special purpose vehicle(SPV) formed by Government of Orissa (GOO), Sterlite Industries India Limited (SIIL) and Orissa Mining Corporation (OMC); as per Supreme Court’s Order on August 08, 2008. The Foundation is registered under Section 25 of the Companies Registration Act is chaired by the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (South).
Sterlite Industries India Limited deposits 5% of the profit or Rs. 10 Crore per Year- whichever is higher. Sterlite Industries India Limited (SIIL) has deposited Rs. 20 Crore in the Foundation. In the Board Meeting it was also decided that SIIL will deposit Rs. 10 Crore for the year 2009-10 to take up more developmental projects.
Since formation in 2009, the LPADF has taken up several Projects for within 50 km radius of Lanjigarh. It works in close collaboration with specialized government development agencies like Dongria Kondh Development Agency, Kutia Kondh Development Agencies, SC/ST Research and Training Institutes, RWSS, ITDA, District Watershed Mission. It has works in both Kalahandi and Rayagada district. It has taken up initiatives in the areas of healthcare, education, infrastructure development as well as livelihood promotion.
Revenue Divisional Commissioner (South) LM Nayak, IAS also inaugurated a health care centre funded by LPADF at Jugasaipatna, Kalahandi.
