MUMBAI: : YES BANK, India’s 4th largest Private sector Bank has collaborated with the Swades Foundation, under its YES Community initiative to provide clean and safe drinking water to rural households across Raigad district of Maharashtra.
YESCommunity is an impact social and environmental engagement initiative by YES BANK which is committed to improving lives of people.
In Financial Year 2014, YES Community has reached over 4,89,000 lives across spectrum of initiatives. In its quest to promote health through community interventions YES community since January 2015, has been providing water purification systems to over 70,000 people in the villages of Maharashtra not only addressing health issues, but also education and livelihood.Clean, bacteria free and chemical free water is being provided, with no dependence of electricity, for domestic and community use.
Founded by Ronnie & Zarina Screwvala, Swades Foundation works with the single-minded focus of empowering 1 million Rural Indians every 5 years. Swades works across 5 verticals – Agriculture & Livelihood, Community Mobilisation, Education, Health & Nutrition and Water & Sanitation. Till date, Swades has impacted 471,000 lives.

Speaking about the partnership, Ms Zarina Screwvala, Founder & Managing Trustee, Swades Foundation added “Swades Foundation is working towards empowering 1 million Rural Indians every 5 years. One of our key initiatives is to provide 200 liters of potable water to each household per day, round the year.
