AHMEDABAD (India CSR): Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) has launched its landmark CSR initiative, “50 Viksit Villages, Vision 2047,” to transform 50 villages into self-reliant, future-ready communities. The initiative, announced during GNFC’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, is aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. According to GNFC’s FY 2025-26 Annual Report, the programme seeks to positively impact an estimated 50,000 to 75,000 rural lives through a long-term community-development approach in Bharuch district.
The launch formed part of GNFC’s Golden Jubilee milestone programme, during which Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel unveiled the company’s commemorative coffee-table book and inaugurated two environmental initiatives – a Miyawaki Forest and Namo Vad Van. GNFC’s “50 Viksit Villages, Vision 2047” initiative signals a structured effort to take rural development beyond short-term assistance. By focusing on self-reliant and future-ready communities, the programme places village development at the centre of the company’s broader sustainability and inclusive-growth agenda.
The initiative has been outlined as part of GNFC’s Vision 2047 framework, under which the company is pursuing responsible scale, sustainable innovation and long-term value creation. The company’s vision is closely linked to strengthening domestic capabilities and contributing to India’s development journey. In his message to shareholders, GNFC Chairman Manoj Kumar Das, IAS, said the company’s journey has remained closely aligned with the country’s aspirations. He noted that, as India advances towards Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047, GNFC remains committed to creating long-term value through governance, innovation, operational excellence and sustainability.
The programme is especially significant because it links GNFC’s Golden Jubilee legacy with a forward-looking commitment to rural development. Rather than limiting CSR to isolated interventions, the stated objective is to enable communities to become more prepared for future economic, social and environmental needs. GNFC, a Gujarat-based fertilizer, chemicals and information technology enterprise, completed five decades of operations in 2026. Its latest initiative reinforces the role of corporate CSR in supporting village-level development and helping communities participate in India’s long-term growth vision.
