NEW DELHI: The Global Gandhian Trusteeship & Corporate Responsibility Foundation is organising its Eleventh Two Day Workshop on CSR being organized in Guwahati on August 25-26,2011.
The Venue is the Don Bosco Institute, Joypur, Kharguli.
“The workshop offers an excellent opportunity for CSR Practitioners, HR Personnel and all those responsible or interested in responsible business to enhance their knowledge and awareness about the emerging trend in CSR both in India and abroad. ” Suresh Kr Pramar informed INDIACSR.
“It’s no longer good enough for Business to do a job well, satisfy customers and generate financial returns. In the future business will be held accountable for the supplies they use and where they came from, what their customers do with their purchase and whether it improves their lives, and the costs and benefits to countries and communities touched along the way.” he added.
The workshop will help participants to learn about the new International Guidelines on CSR, the ISO 26,000, which aims to soon become a reference and benchmark for organizations to shape the future of Responsible Business. It will provide training on how to identify and engage stakeholders and enhance credibility of reports and claims made about social responsibility. The training will outline the scope and rationale of ISO 26000.
Along with ISO 26000 the Workshop will help participants to understand the scope and rationale of the recently released National Voluntary Guidelines on Social, Environmental and Economic Responsibilities of Business.
These Guidelines are likely to impact on business extensively and bring about substantial changes in the way CSR is undertaken in India. These Guidelines will make it obligatory for business to take responsibility for their products and services from design to the final disposal of the product after use.
In addition the workshop will offer an opportunity for participants how to build effective Community Relations, Strategic Opportunities for Human Resources in promoting CSR, How to Build sustainable partnerships with NGOs to implement Community Projects; How CSR can help to bring about Inclusive Economic Development etc
Taken together the Workshop will help to build the competencies of attendees looking to use this learning within their organization by examining the necessary systems and structures, performance reviews and communication required.
