Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) is one niche area that has evolved consistently. It has taken centre stage, attracting Government as well as social scientists to be recognized as an integral part of the Corporate DNA for seeking responsible business. It need not be considered only as an effective management directive but also necessarily be embedded in the Corporate Philosophy.
The growing impact of accelerated growth, uneven penetration, continued environmental degradation, increased human rights concerns, growing social anxiety, entails upon the Corporates to act responsibly on a sustained basis while ensuring fairness, equity, ethics, for all its stakeholders.
There has always been a strong case to recognize, encourage and reward such corporates who display remarkable business responsibilities with Triple Bottom Line approach. The prime thrust is to unleash the enormous potential of CSR in creating an orderly, equitable, non discriminatory and inclusive transformation of the society for mutual growth. CSR still remains a challenge to measure and devise simple models for ensuring deliverables for creating brand value, healthy recognition and establishing credibility.
ASSOCHAM CSR Awards were established in 2008 and are now recognized as the benchmark for socially responsible Indian corporates. ASSOCHAM CSR Awards 2011 will once again showcase well-deserved visibility and recognition to Corporates for distinguished CSR activities.
The Awards shall be presented in two categories, (1) Large Companies (Turnover Rs. > 500 Crore) and (2) Others Companies (Turnover Rs. < 500 Crore) as per the last audited Financial Statement, for best CSR practices at a grand function to be held on Monday September 26, 2011 at New Delhi. In addition, 2 runners up companies will also be recognized by way of a Certificate in each category.
