NEW DELHI: As India’s furniture and interior design industry continues to expand, conversations around quality assurance are increasingly extending beyond aesthetics to the authenticity of the materials used. While finishes, colours and textures often influence buying decisions, verifying what lies beneath has remained a challenge for customers and industry professionals alike.

Seeking to address this gap, Action TESA has launched TESA Inside, an initiative that introduces a product authentication mechanism for its pre-laminated engineered wood boards. The initiative is aimed at making verification easier across the furniture value chain by allowing users to confirm the originality of the product at various stages of its lifecycle.

The initiative works through an invisible security marking embedded within every Action TESA pre-laminated board. The marking can be viewed using a UV torch, enabling authentication at the time of purchase, during installation or even after the furniture has been manufactured. Since the identifier remains integrated within the product, it provides a lasting method of verification without affecting the board’s design or functionality.

The launch comes at a time when engineered wood products are witnessing increasing adoption across residential, commercial and institutional projects. Architects, interior designers, furniture manufacturers and builders are handling projects where consistency in material quality has become as important as design. Yet, confirming the authenticity of the core material has often depended on trust rather than a verifiable process.

By embedding a simple verification feature directly into its products, Action TESA aims to make authentication more accessible for every stakeholder involved in the supply chain. Whether it is a retailer assuring customers of product originality, a contractor validating materials before installation or a homeowner seeking confidence in their purchase, the initiative seeks to introduce an additional level of transparency.

Industry observers note that verification technologies are becoming increasingly relevant across manufacturing sectors as businesses look to strengthen consumer confidence and improve supply chain accountability. In the furniture materials segment, where the quality of the finished product depends significantly on the materials concealed within, authentication initiatives can help promote informed purchasing decisions while encouraging higher standards across the industry.

TESA Inside also reflects a broader strategic framework adopted by Action TESA. The initiative forms one of the company’s five foundational pillars that collectively focus on strengthening product quality, innovation and stakeholder engagement. Alongside TESA Inside, the company continues to pursue innovation through TESA Intelligence, reinforce ethical manufacturing and quality standards through TESA Trust, encourage collaboration through TESA Connect, advance environmental responsibility under its Kalpataru sustainability initiative, and acknowledge industry contributors through TESA Salaam.

Together, these initiatives underline the company’s long-term approach to strengthening trust within the engineered wood ecosystem while supporting evolving customer expectations. Rather than focusing solely on product development, the company is positioning transparency and verification as important components of the overall customer experience.

With TESA Inside, Action TESA is introducing a practical solution to an industry challenge that has traditionally been difficult to address. By making authenticity verifiable through a simple process, the initiative aims to help customers look beyond surface appearance and make more informed decisions about the materials they choose.

As the market continues to place greater emphasis on reliability and accountability, initiatives that enable product verification could play a growing role in shaping purchasing behaviour. Through TESA Inside, Action TESA is encouraging the industry to adopt a straightforward principle: Always check for TESA Inside.
