NEW DELHI (India CSR): Nestlé India, in collaboration with GreenLine, the frontrunners of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) fuelled heavy trucking logistics in India, has launched an LNG-powered fleet, marking a significant step towards sustainable operations. The new fleet will be instrumental in reducing the carbon footprint of Nestlé India’s logistics operations.
Custom-Built Container Trucks by GreenLine for Sustainable Operations
GreenLine has custom-built 46 feet long container trucks for this initiative, which will ply between Nestlé’s factory in Sanand, Gujarat, and Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. The LNG-powered fleet, built by Blue Energy Motors, offers superior performance in terms of reduced emissions, significantly cutting down Carbon Dioxide, Sulphur Oxides, Nitrogen Oxides, Carbon Monoxide, and Particulate Matter emissions.
Nestlé India’s Commitment towards Achieving Net Zero Emissions
Sanjay Khajuria, Director, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Nestlé India, expressed the company’s commitment towards achieving net zero emissions. “We are accelerating our sustainability initiatives. Sustained logistics is a step in that direction. We are deploying different modes of transportation using alternate fuel and using bigger vehicles to optimize vehicle capacity utilization. Our partnership with GreenLine is expected to aid us in realizing our sustainability objectives,” he said.
