Rishi Pathania is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)/Sustainability professional with 22 years’ work experience and passion to create impact in sustainable livelihood and nature conservation space.
Born on 2nd October and a post graduate from Xavier Institute of Social Services, Rishi is working as Head of CSR for UPL Group since November 2012 and is responsible for the Planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating CSR initiatives of UPL group companies. He is the Management Representative / trustee of UPL promoted trust and foundations.
Prior to UPL, Rishi was part of Tata Chemicals CSR leadership team for 9 years and has worked in UP and Gujarat. Has worked with small NGO for 3 years and was based in Bareilly, has worked in UP and Uttarakhand. Has also worked with a multinational NGO for 3.5 years, was based in Ranchi and has worked in Jharkhand, Bihar, South Bengal and Orrisa.
He works closely with business leaders for analysing existing initiatives, improving and implementing the strategies and processes to improve CSR/Sustainability deliverables.
For the last 22 years, Rishi is involved with CSR/Trust/Foundations/NGOs/Government agencies/CBOs and has demonstrated significant success in setting up the CSR strategy for operations in India and global business with focus on project management, sustainability policy-making with Global teams and by strategizing CSR initiatives.
His experience of working in different geographies with small NGO, Multinational NGO and Corporate CSR/Sustainability has reinforced his understanding of the complex relationship between the various dimensions affecting the humanity today.
Furthermore, his active interest in policy advocacy has earned him a position in different advocacy forums at National level. Being an active participant at different forums has greatly helped him in integrating community needs with project planning at macro level.
He has attended the Common Purpose International Leadership Development programme for future leaders of India & UK called DISHAA, which was launched by British Prime Minister David Cameron and held at Bangalore, India and London, UK. He has attended prestigious Tata Group emerging leaders programme (A three phase module for leadership development).
Rishi is a Certified Achievement Motivation Trainer (On Achievement thema based on human process lab) from NEISBUD, NOIDA. He is a Senior/lead assessor for CII-ITC Sustainability Awards. He was a Tata Group TBEM and Affirmative Action assessor which is based on United States Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. He has trained on GRI sustainability reporting during G3 launching and GRI conference Reporting: a Measure of Sustainability at Amsterdam.
Rishi is prominent speaker in most national and international CSR/Sustainability forums.
