Holding a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA from IIM Calcutta, Katyal’s technical and managerial skills synergize to make him an adept advisor and manager of carbon portfolios for various renewable energy projects.
His extensive portfolio includes assignments with respected institutions like TERI, World Bank Group, European Commission, and Wind World Group. Furthermore, Katyal has been a valued member of several advisory panels established by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He was instrumental in the team at TERI that created the energy efficiency star rating for electrical appliances.
