MUMBAI: NEC India has won the coveted India CSR Leadership Award 2021 for “Holistic Development Project in Villages around Vrindavan (Rural Development)” at India CSR Leadership Summit & Awards.

This award is in recognition of our CSR initiatives at the grass-root level for Holistc Rural Development in the villages around Vrindavan through a wide spectrum of activities, the company said.
The project targets Women’s Empowerment through the provision of Education and Nutrition, Environment Conservation and Rural Livelihood Creation and Digitalization of villages through the provision of Digital Infrastructure and Digital Literacy. The objective is to constantly endeavour to make a real difference to society.
NEC India received the award from Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in a gathering of more than 400 participants, more than 300 organizations, and more than 50 speakers from corporate, civil society, venture capital sector, start-ups, social enterprises, academia, and media.
The company believes in taking an innovative approach to address social issues by developing a self-sustained program for communities.
Project Summary the benefiting the community:
Women empowerment through the adoption of 2 schools in the interiors supporting the holistic development of 300 girl students through the provision of regular and vocational education along with nutrition
Round the year support for nutritional supplementation and health care of 450 Underprivileged and Old age females
Two-pronged approach for Environment conservation by clubbing the plantations with Rural Livelihood Creation program for poor farmers. Planted 3000 fruit-bearing trees to provide for an alternate source of livelihood when the regular harvest gets spoiled.
Provision of Hardware for enabling digitalization of villages that facilitates one-point access to G2C and B2C services namely Pension Schemes, Saving Schemes, Life Insurance, etc.
Environment and Biodiversity conservation through the restoration of Flora and Fauna around Ancient Mansarovar lake, thereby making it a haven for migratory birds again.
Funding for concrete construction of Old Age Home run by the NGO Maitri for Old and destitute widows.
