Before Ultra Gas, Mukundan Iyer was heading the Onsite and Merchant business for Linde Middle East and played a pioneering role in the development of green hydrogen/ ammonia and hydrogen refueling stations across various government and private enterprises in the Middle East.
An avid advocate of clean energy, smart city development and technology to uplift the quality of people’s lives, Mukundan has been passionate about the deployment of cryogenic application technologies across various industries towards energy savings and pollution reduction.
He has served on the boards of various companies and has worked on various investment projects with steel majors in supporting the building of air separation plants and hydrogen units across India and the Middle East. He has worked on downstream Carbon Capture and Utilization projects, enhanced oil recovery and fracking using CO2 in the upstream petrochemical sectors.
At the peak of Covid, Mukundan was a member of the key task force that delivered liquid oxygen to India from facilities in the Middle East, in collaboration with government and private bodies.
In 2016 Forbes ME identified him as a Top 100 Most Influential CEOs concerning policy development in the manufacturing sector.
Mukundan has previously held the position of Northern India President for the Infrastructure Committee for ICMA (2003/05). He has been an industry member for governance for transportation of classified chemicals under the NCB India (2004/5).
