Empowering Through Education and Skill Development
At the core of Cyient DLM’s social outreach lies a profound belief in the transformative power of education and skill-building. Through the Cyient Foundation, the company’s dedicated CSR arm, significant strides were made in boosting educational access and quality. For FY25, Cyient DLM supported four government schools through its adoption program in and around its facilities, enhancing infrastructure and providing quality education to underserved children. These efforts notably led to increased girl child enrollment and improved pass percentages within these adopted schools.
Beyond foundational education, the company also funded the Rural Micro Skill Development Centre (CRMSDC) in Telangana’s Mahabubnagar District, specifically targeting women’s empowerment. The centre’s programs are designed to build livelihood opportunities, fostering self-employability, entrepreneurship capacity, and access to sustainable skilled employment for rural women. The curriculum focuses on local industries with opportunities in healthcare, electronic manufacturing, and BPO non-voice services. In FY25, these initiatives collectively benefited 1,351 individuals in education and IT literacy, and 354 individuals through the rural skill development centre, with 41.22% and 42.09% of beneficiaries, respectively, coming from vulnerable and marginalized groups.
Pioneering a Greener Tomorrow: Environmental Stewardship
Cyient DLM’s commitment to sustainability extends deeply into environmental protection and resource conservation, showcasing a proactive approach to ecological responsibility and aligning with its long-term sustainability goals, including carbon neutrality. In FY25, the company made substantial investments in green technologies and practices. A key highlight was the installation of a 500 kWp rooftop solar power plant at its Mysuru facility, which will enable 80% of the plant’s operations to run on renewable energy from FY26. Additionally, the company’s Abhitech Park plant, commissioned in FY25, already relies on approximately 80% renewable energy.

Further environmental efforts include replacing 90% of outdated lighting fixtures with energy-efficient LED lights across its sites, significantly reducing energy consumption and heat generation. As part of its community development efforts under CSR, 25 solar-powered LED streetlights were installed in Mysore, demonstrating local environmental impact. Water conservation was bolstered by increasing rainwater harvesting pit capacity from 18 kilolitres to 28 kilolitres. The company also implemented effective waste management practices, such as vermi-composting of garden and food waste for landscaping and replacing disposable paper cups with reusable steel glasses, further reducing waste. Regular energy audits for critical equipment, along with upgrades to systems like capacitor banks for power factor correction and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) controlled compressors, underscore a continuous drive for operational efficiency and a reduced carbon footprint. Measures like providing transportation for all associates also contribute to reducing individual vehicle usage and emissions.
Robust Oversight and Transparent Reporting
The effectiveness of Cyient DLM’s CSR initiatives is reinforced by a robust governance framework and a commitment to transparency. The company’s CSR & ESG Committee, a dedicated body chaired by Muralidhar Yadama, oversees and makes strategic decisions on all sustainability-related issues, including environment, health and safety, corporate social responsibility, and inclusion and diversity. This integrated governance structure ensures that ESG principles are embedded throughout the company’s operations. An annual Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR) comprehensively details the company’s environmental, social, and governance initiatives, reflecting its adherence to stringent reporting standards.
Furthermore, impact assessments for key CSR projects, like those in education and skill development, are voluntarily conducted by independent agencies, such as Janma Foundation and Naipunya Association for Skill Development, providing verified insights into the programs’ effectiveness. These assessments confirmed the positive social impact, improved quality education, and effective skill development provided to unemployed rural women. The company maintains a clear grievance redressal mechanism with easily accessible, language-appropriate, and gender-sensitive grievance registers at adopted schools and skill centers, ensuring that feedback and concerns from stakeholders, including communities and employees, are actively received and resolved. This multi-layered oversight and reporting mechanism solidifies Cyient DLM’s position as a responsible corporate citizen, accountable to its stakeholders and committed to continuous improvement.
