CSR: Mitsubishi Electric Initiates Semiconductor and Devices Lab Program

Covers 2 Technical institutions in the 1st Phase under it’s CSR Initiative

Faridabad (India CSR): Mitsubishi Electric is a pioneer of Semiconductor technology and is a leading brand which is contributing towards the advancement of the society through its electrical and electronic products & solutions. The company works on a CSR Strategy which is in line with the Government of India initiatives and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The CSR initiatives adopted by the company can broadly be categorized as Skill Development, Community Development and Climate Action.

In India, semiconductor is a talking point for everybody, but the practical knowledge and information of this segment is very limited. With a strong vision to explain the simple application and function of semiconductors, Mitsubishi Electric Semiconductors & Devices department took a step to start semiconductors and devices lab project across India.

In the first phase, the company prepared educational tools and equipment which has been supplied to two technical institutions; Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies located in Faridabad and PSG College of Technology located in Coimbatore.

The educational material prepared by semiconductors & devices department includes IGBT Module, IGBT Stack, DIPIPMs, DIPIPM Evaluation PCBA with controller, IGBT Gate Drivers, UPS, etc. which have been supplied at the labs of both the colleges. Under the program, regular training sessions will also be organized by Mitsubishi Electric professional engineers for the students to impart the necessary knowledge for better understanding.

The objective of this program is to upskill the next generation of engineers with practical working knowledge of semiconductors and open-up their imagination for the new challenges that the electric and electronic industry will bring to them.

The launch activity of the lab setup at the institutions was done by Hitesh Bhardwaj, General Manager, Semiconductor and Devices division, Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt. Ltd.

Ltd. highlighted the importance of practical knowledge in the industry and said, “India is rising to become a booming market for Semiconductor technology and Mitsubishi Electric is providing prominent products and solutions that can make its way towards advancement. Through this CSR initiative, we are glad to collaborate with the institutions that helped us achieve our goals to create an informed and skilled society across India. Our envision is to create such technologically advanced lab in the institutions all over the country for practical learning and skill development of the upcoming generation.

As a company, Mitsubishi Electric supports many such skill development activities and the semiconductor & devices lab setup is one such CSR initiative which will build upon year and year with a vision to expand the practical knowledge of semiconductor devices as a literary technical project.
