Mobile medical unit to serve rural communities around Ras and Beawar with primary healthcare access and screening support.

JAIPUR (India CSR): Shree Cement Limited, a leading cement sector company, through its CSR arm Shree Foundation Trust, and Aster DM Foundation have launched “Shree Swasthya Vahini,” a Mobile Medical Unit to improve primary healthcare access for nearly 70,000 people over the next four years in rural communities around the Ras and Beawar plant areas of Rajasthan.

The Mobile Medical Unit was inaugurated at Shree Cement’s Ras Plant under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The programme is designed to take basic healthcare services closer to underserved communities that may face barriers in accessing timely medical care.

The Shree Swasthya Vahini Mobile Medical Unit will provide village-level medical support in communities around the Ras and Beawar plant areas. The unit will offer doctor consultations, free medicines, ECG facilities, blood pressure testing, blood sugar testing, hemoglobin tests, diabetes and hypertension screening, eye check-ups and dental check-ups.

It will also provide referral support and community health awareness programmes, the company said.

The initiative is expected to benefit approximately 70,000 people over the next four years. Its focus is on regular and accessible medical services for rural populations.

The programme seeks to address primary healthcare gaps by providing preventive, diagnostic and referral support at the community level. This gives the initiative relevance for CSR, ESG, public health, and community development discussions.

Shree Foundation Trust and Aster DM Foundation are implementing the initiative together. The collaboration combines Shree Cement’s community development work with Aster DM Foundation’s healthcare experience.

The programme is linked to the company’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility approach in areas close to its operations.

Commenting on the initiative, Vishal Bhardwaj, Head – CSR, Shree Cement, said, “Good health is fundamental to individual well-being and community progress. Through Shree Swasthya Vahini, we are bringing essential healthcare services closer to people who often face challenges in accessing timely medical care. By combining Shree Cement’s commitment to community development with Aster DM Foundation’s healthcare expertise, we hope to create a lasting positive impact and improve health outcomes across the region.”

Shree Cement Limited, listed on BSE and NSE, is one of India’s leading cement groups. The company manufactures cement products through facilities across India and the UAE. It is known for green credentials, corporate governance practices, and sustainable building material solutions.
