With over 3,000 farmers empowered across three states – Gujarat, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, the company is sowing seeds of change, one farm at a time.
VADODARA (India CSR): Apollo Tyres Foundation (ATF) is making a profound impact on agriculture by reaching 3,261 farmers across Gujarat, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, Apollo Tyres informed. ATF is equipping farmers with the knowledge and tools to embrace sustainable practices through its focused initiatives. These efforts are building resilient food systems and playing a pivotal role in safeguarding the environment for future generations.
On National Farmers Day, Apollo Tyres celebrated the inspiring efforts of farmers who have adopted sustainable agricultural practices. The event honored their dedication to protecting the environment, enhancing food security, and strengthening local communities.
“The ceremony, organized by Apollo Tyres Foundation (ATF), witnessed a lively display of organic produce from farmers who have become champions of sustainability. Six exceptional farmers were felicitated for their remarkable innovation and commitment to sustainable farming.”, the company said.
Building a Sustainable Future
Through ATF, Apollo Tyres is driving a mission to promote environmental sustainability and community well-being. Their targeted training programs focus on enhanced crop planning, soil health improvement, and the use of organic manure. These initiatives have already transformed the lives of 3,261 farmers in Gujarat, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.
Geetaben Shantilal Parmar, one of the beneficiaries, shared her journey. “I was hesitant at first when ATF introduced the idea of sustainable farming,” she said. “Switching from conventional methods was daunting. But over time, I realized this change was an opportunity to rethink my approach. Now, I see the benefits—healthier crops, reduced resource use, and a system that respects the local environment.”
Impact Beyond Numbers
ATF’s programs have enabled farmers to embrace organic methods that boost biodiversity and reduce dependency on chemical inputs. The transition not only safeguards the environment but also ensures the production of healthier food.
“Our goal is to create a resilient food system,” said an ATF representative. “Farmers like Geetaben show that with the right support, sustainable agriculture can thrive and inspire others to follow.”
Farmers as Role Models
The six farmers honored at the event were hailed as change-makers. Their innovative approaches and dedication to sustainability are paving the way for a healthier agricultural future.
“Farmers are the backbone of our country,” said Radhika Jadeja, Assistant Director of Horticulture, Gujarat State Government Office, Gandhinagar during her speech. “Their efforts in adopting sustainable practices are not just beneficial for their communities but are essential for the planet.”
