NEW DELHI (India CSR): As 2024 draws to a close, the ATE Chandra Foundation reflects on a year of impactful philanthropic initiatives and renewed commitments. Gayatri Nair Lobo, Chief Executive Officer of the ATE Chandra Foundation, emphasizes the organization’s focus on driving systems-level change through innovative partnerships, policy support, and capacity building in India’s social sector.
Gayatri Nair Lobo highlighted the importance of policies that create transformative change. “For us, the real impact comes through when at the policy level changes happen. We welcome initiatives from the government, such as transitioning 1 crore farmers to natural farming and Maharashtra’s Gaalmukt Dharan Gaalyuk Shivar (GDGS) policy. More initiatives like these can shift the needle on many challenges Indian farmers face,” she remarked.
The foundation’s work in Rejuvenation of Waterbodies has directly impacted nearly 1 crore farmers, ensuring sustainable access to water resources. This successful model has the potential to be replicated across the country, providing a roadmap for scalable solutions.
ATE Chandra Foundation attributes its success to the collaborative efforts of the non-profits it supports. “We are committed to strengthening India’s social sector—NGOs, volunteers, and community workers—that are bringing equitable growth to the country. They are finding solutions to the wicked, sticky problems in our country, and we must support them by building resources and talent for the sector,” Gayatri emphasized.
Reflecting on innovative platforms, the Foundation celebrated the success of the Social Stock Exchange, where 10 NGOs raised Rs 20 crores this year. This initiative underscores the growing recognition of the social sector’s pivotal role in addressing societal challenges and fostering equitable growth.
As the Foundation prepares for the upcoming year, its focus remains steadfast on creating sustainable models to uplift communities. “Through partnerships, innovation, and capacity building for NGOs, we aim to continue this journey of meaningful change,” concluded Gayatri.
