Pioneering Industrialist and Philanthropist, A.M. Naik Passes the Baton to S.N. Subrahmanyan in a Grand Ceremony

In a significant development marking the end of an era, A.M. Naik bid adieu to his role as the Group Chairman of Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the renowned $23 billion conglomerate, on Saturday, September 30th. The elaborate farewell, attended by a confluence of over 1500 senior employees and multiple former directors of L&T, unfolded at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

Leadership Handover

A New Chapter

S.N. Subrahmanyan warmly received the leadership mantle from Naik, heralding a new phase for L&T. Despite stepping down, Naik will maintain his influential presence as the Chairman of the Group’s IT companies and the employees’ trust, ensuring the continuity of his vision and values within the conglomerate.

Philanthropic Path

Continued Commitment

Naik’s future endeavors will predominantly revolve around his extensive philanthropic pursuits. He plans to intensify his commitment to several initiatives, such as the Naik Charitable Trust focusing on educational advancement and skill development for the underprivileged, and the Nirali Memorial Medical Trust, a beacon of subsidized super-specialty healthcare.

Philanthropic Legacy

Constructive Contributions

Naik’s profound impact is evident through the infrastructure he has established – five hospitals, six schools, and three ceremonial halls, alongside adopting and revamping over 40 schools in Gujarat and Mumbai under the aegis of his trusts. His unwavering dedication to societal upliftment has earned him the title of the most generous corporate professional in the Edelgive Hurun India Philanthropy List for three consecutive years.

Honoring a Visionary

Tribute to a Trailblazer

India Post paid homage to Naik’s industrial and philanthropic contributions by unveiling a postage stamp in his honor. Additionally, the cover of his forthcoming biography, “The Man Who Built Tomorrow,” published by Harper Collins, was revealed, showcasing the life and accomplishments of the man who sculpted the future of industries and societies.
