Nakul Jain, co-founder of APLYD, also joins Athena Infonomics as Partner as the organisation strengthens its government-focused AI work.
NEW DELHI (India CSR®): Athena Infonomics has appointed Nakul Jain as the Chief Executive Officer of APLYD, its dedicated artificial intelligence company working with governments and public institutions. Jain, who co-founded APLYD, will also join Athena Infonomics as a Partner. The appointment comes as APLYD expands its work to help governments build the policies, skills, systems and governance required for responsible AI adoption across public services.
APLYD consolidates Athena Infonomics’ AI work under a dedicated identity. The company supports institutions across Africa, Asia and Latin America in developing AI strategies, strengthening field data and delivery systems, building technology solutions, and evaluating their impact. Jain brings 15 years of experience in digital systems and AI for the public sector. He was previously CEO and Managing Director of Wadhwani AI Global, where he led the organisation’s expansion in Latin America and Africa. Earlier, as Vice President of Products & Solutions at Wadhwani AI India, he oversaw more than 25 AI deployments across India.
“For 15 years, I have worked with ministries and public institutions and seen technology improve lives when it is accessible and designed for the public,” Jain said. “At APLYD, our aim is to help AI reach ministries, districts and citizens who can benefit from it.” Vijay Bhalaki, Co-Founder of Athena Infonomics and APLYD, said Jain has significant experience in making AI work within government institutions under real-world conditions.

Under Jain’s leadership, APLYD will focus on using institutional AI capabilities to strengthen government decision-making, public systems and service delivery.
