Gurugram – Diversified technology company Panasonic India has pledged to plant 2,000 trees across 20 acres of land in the Sakatpur Hills, this year in partnership with the Haryana Forest and Wildlife Department as part of its ‘A Better Life, A Better World’ vision, the company said in a release.
The tree plantation drive is in line with company’s commitment to plant 100,000 trees this year across the country under its ongoing ‘Harit Umang – Joy of Green’ program.
Through the initiative, the company aims to sensitise schools and communities about sustainable practices. The company is also working on e-waste management and recycling to create zero plastic zones around school campuses.
“We, at Panasonic, are proud to take yet another step towards expanding our ‘Harit Umang’ program contributing towards safeguarding our environment,” Ritu Ghosh, head, corporate affairs & CSR at Panasonic India said .
“Through this drive we want to encourage ecofriendly practices among young and old alike, and urge people to become change agents to help us realise the vision of a greener tomorrow,” she added.
