Hindustan Zinc (HZL) has been recognised with the 25th Bhamashah Award for excellent contribution in the field of education, which collectively spent Rs 33 crore under it corporate social responsibility programme in Rajasthan.
The Bhamashah Award is a state level recognition to the organisations contributing towards progress of the states.
The company said that the total contribution of 113 Bhamashahs came up to Rs 152 crore, of which 25% contribution was from HZL. For their contribution to uplift education in Rajasthan, Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter came first with a contribution of Rs 12.41 crore followed by Rajpura Dariba Complex with Rs 11.95 crore and Zawar Mines at third with Rs 8.77 crore. All three were awarded with the Shiksha Vibhushan award.
Rampura Agucha Mine too was awarded the Shiksha Vibhushan award while Zinc Smelter Debari received the Shiksha Bhushan award.
The betterment of education has been a focus under their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. Be it providing additional classes of Maths, English and Science subjects under its Shiksha Sambal program, coaching for IIT exams under Unchi Udaan initiative or construction of Nandghars for primary education, education has been given utmost importance.
