Zydus collected 1,375 units of blood through a multi-location CSR drive in Gujarat, supporting emergency care, surgeries and critical medical treatment.
AHMEDABAD, Gujarat (India CSR): Committed to advancing scientific research and innovation to deliver transformative healthcare outcomes, Zydus continues to extend its impact beyond healthcare through meaningful community initiatives. Under the Swasthya pillar of Zydus Srishti, the company’s CSR arm organised a large-scale blood donation drive, demonstrating the power of collective compassion and civic responsibility.
This blood donation drive was conducted across multiple locations in Gujarat. Zydans—from first-time donors to regular contributors, across all roles and functions, including leadership—voluntarily participated in the drive with a shared mission – to help save lives and embodying the organisation’s ethos of giving back to society. Our blood bank partner – Zydus Hospitals helped in conducting this drive.

The result was a remarkable collection of 1,375 units of blood, which were distributed to partner hospitals to support emergency care, trauma management, surgeries and critical care interventions. This contribution significantly strengthened regional blood bank reserves, enabling timely medical interventions for patients in need. The drive reflects Zydus’ unwavering commitment to community welfare and its continued support for the country’s ongoing need for safe and timely blood donations.

Meha Patel, Vice Chairperson of Zydus Foundation, said, “Blood donation is one of the simplest yet most impactful ways to save lives. We are proud to see our employees come together with a shared purpose, reflecting Zydus’ commitment to kindness, community well-being, and social responsibility. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all our donors for making a tangible difference in the lives of many”.
The drive also recognised and celebrated the dedication of long-standing contributors. Fifteen regular donors who had each donated blood more than 20 times during their lifetime were honoured with the “Blood Champion” Trophy, acknowledging their exceptional commitment to saving lives and inspiring others to follow their example. More than the impressive numbers, the programme reflected a deep-rooted culture of empathy, solidarity, and service.

Ganesh Nayak, Director, Zydus Lifesciences, said, “At Zydus, we believe that healthcare extends beyond medicines and innovations—it is also about taking collective responsibility for the well-being of our communities. The overwhelming participation in this Blood Donation Drive reflects the compassion, commitment, and spirit of service that define our organisation”
The initiative also highlighted the importance of sustaining regular blood donation efforts. Consistent voluntary donations not only support accident victims and patients undergoing surgery but also help individuals living with chronic conditions such as thalassemia and cancer, as well as women requiring maternal care.
Beyond its immediate impact, the programme placed strong emphasis on awareness and education. Through sensitisation sessions and outreach campaigns, employees were encouraged to understand the significance of voluntary blood donation and its far-reaching societal benefits. These efforts helped dispel common misconceptions and inspired many participants to become repeat donors, fostering a culture of long-term volunteerism.
The Zydus Blood Donation Drive stands as an example of how organisations can integrate social responsibility into their core values. By nurturing a culture of volunteerism, compassion, and collective action, Zydus continues to make meaningful contributions toward building a healthier, more resilient society for all. Together we can make a difference.
