For the Apostille process India, only original documents are required. Photocopies of documents will not be considered for Apostille.

Documents are certainly among the most important things if not the most important during immigration and foreign travel. Your passport, VISA, and the purpose of your visit document, or any other relevant documents are all checked at the source as well as the destination. So, all such documents must be genuine and verified. Apostille is a process that eliminates the necessity for document verification in all places. An Apostille document testifies that it has been certified, checked, and verified.

India has been a member of the Hague Convention of 1961 since 2005. An Apostille document from a member country of the Hague Convention is considered legal and authentic in other member countries. Hence, after Apostille attestation India, your documents are considered valid in other Hague Convention member countries too.

What is an Apostille document?

To put it simply, Apostille documents are certified documents that are deemed legal and genuine in a few countries. In total, 91 countries are members of the Hague Convention of 1961. The main purpose of the convention was to abolish legalizing of documents for each country separately. A document is accepted by other member countries only when an Apostille sticker is attached at the back of the document.

What documents are required for Apostille in India?

Apostille documents are mandatory when people go abroad to study, work, or do business. If the purpose of your travel is work, then you have to submit an ECA certificate, educational documents, marriage certificate, etc. If you are going on a business trip, you may need to offer supporting documents like a business incorporation certificate. Your personal documents, educational documents, and work/business documents all qualify for an Apostille.

Who is the Apostille in India?

Citizens on an individual basis cannot Apostille their documents directly. The Indian government has authorized certain Apostille services agencies that process Apostille applications in India. Many Regional attestation centers or RACs also admit applications from individuals and apply for Apostille on their behalf.

The Ministry of External Affairs, a division of the central government, is in charge of Apostille in India. An Apostille sticker is applied to a document following the MEA’s final verification.

For the Apostille process India, only original documents are required. Photocopies of documents will not be considered for Apostille. The original documents are required to be submitted by an applicant. The original documents are safe and secure as the process is handled by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Conclusion

Although previously the Apostille of documents was a complicated and time-consuming process and required the help of middle agents like peons and clerks, the Apostille attestation India has become much easier now. Now, the government-authorized Apostille service providers can deliver your Apostille documents on time and with hardly any effort from your end. They are economical and allow you to easily track your application status via them. The Apostille cost varies and so does the duration of certificate attestation depending upon the types of documents, public holidays in between, and other factors. Hence, check with your service providers before applying.

If you plan on going abroad and need your Apostille documents, then donโ€™t worry about the Apostille process India. Simply contact your nearest reliable service provider after checking on the MEA website and leave everything to them. You can submit your requirement along with your contact details. Once your request is processed, an advisor from the service providerโ€™s team will guide you on how to process your Apostille application.
