AHMEDABAD: More than 250 corporate officials and NGO representatives gathered today to discuss ‘CSR – Challenges & Opportunities for Corporate and NGOs’ at AMA, Ahmedabad. The day long deliberation was held by Udgam Charitable Trust, Gandhinagar Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, New Delhi and Hearth Foundation.
The one day seminar was aiming at discussing challenges and opportunities in the field of CSR for both Corporates and NGOs. Number of eminent personalities had participated in the seminar including Ms. Anar Patel – President of Gramshree & Entrepreneur, Niraj Lal – CSR Head of Arvind ltd., Dr. Nitin Shah – Chairman of Hearth Foundation and Research Institute, Uday Shankar – Director VYK, Sushma Oza – Director Strategy & Sustainability Adani Foundation, Dr. Archana Dutta of SHARDA Trust, Rishi Pathania – Head of CSR UPL Ltd., Dr. Mona Nargolwala – Consultant CSR & Sustainability, Bharat Thakkar, NGOCSR.com, Poonam Batra, Stand Sustainable, Delhi.
Deliberations were done on using CSR for realizing national priorities and various alternatives and innovations done in CSR and future directions. The gaps were also defined which is hindrance for sustainable CSR partnership. How to make partnership work in CSR area, what are the key points of capacity building for cashing on CSR opportunities.
Ms. Anar Patel addressed participants by saying that there are fundamental differences between the Corporates and NGOs. Both needs to work in synergy to get best results for society. Best process shall be defined and followed to make it transparent system. Dr. Shah of Hearth Foundation also shared the opportunity his organization is offering to NGOs and asked NGO members to be part of it.
