Delhi NCR, December 26, 2024 – Vyomini Social Enterprise, in collaboration with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), has launched its flagship ‘Swabhimaan’ skill development training program. This initiative aims to empower 1,000 underprivileged individuals, including women, migrant workers, and youth, by equipping them with essential skills to secure sustainable employment in high-demand service sectors.
1 A Vision for Socio-Economic Empowerment
The ‘Swabhimaan’ program is designed to uplift underserved communities by offering 75 hours of intensive training in sectors such as domestic help, patient care, childcare, elderly care, home care, and security services. Participants, including over 100 men and women migrants enrolled so far, receive hands-on, job-oriented skills tailored to meet market demands.
Speaking at the launch, Prachi Kaushik, Founder and Director of Vyomini Social Enterprise, said,
“Swabhimaan is more than just training; it’s about restoring dignity and creating opportunities for self-reliance. We aim to empower individuals to lead meaningful lives while contributing to society.”
2 Training for Immediate Employment
The program goes beyond skill-building by ensuring participants have direct access to employment opportunities. Vyomini Social Enterprise has partnered with healthcare organizations such as Anand Maya Hospital, Holy Angel Hospital, Aastha Hospital, and Sagar Nursing Home to offer placements to qualified candidates.
The initiative addresses the demand-supply gap in skilled labor while promoting economic independence for marginalized communities.
3 Public-Private Partnership Driving Success
The success of ‘Swabhimaan’ is backed by its collaboration with SIDBI, whose support highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in tackling socio-economic challenges. Local NGOs have also joined hands with Vyomini to ensure the program’s seamless implementation and to extend its reach to the most marginalized groups.
A SIDBI spokesperson commented,
“Supporting initiatives like ‘Swabhimaan’ aligns with our commitment to fostering inclusive growth. Programs like this have the power to transform lives and communities by bridging skill gaps and creating sustainable livelihoods.”
4 Impact and Future Goals
The pilot phase aims to train 1,000 individuals in six months, creating a pool of skilled professionals ready to contribute to high-demand sectors. By focusing on practical skills and job placements, the program ensures participants can immediately apply their knowledge to secure meaningful employment.
“Swabhimaan is building a robust pipeline of skilled workers while uplifting their socio-economic status,” said a program coordinator. “It’s about creating opportunities where they didn’t exist before.”
5 A Step Toward Lasting Impact
Vyomini Social Enterprise’s dedication to addressing unemployment and skill gaps through ‘Swabhimaan’ sets a precedent for impactful social entrepreneurship. The program not only provides immediate job opportunities but also fosters a sense of dignity and self-worth among participants.
With the support of SIDBI and local partners, Vyomini is driving a transformative movement to empower disadvantaged groups, ensuring a better future for individuals and the communities they serve.
As Prachi Kaushik aptly concluded,
“Together, we can create a society where everyone has the skills and opportunities to thrive.”
