Three MCD primary schools in South Shahdara receive dedicated libraries to support reading habits among young students.
NEW DELHI (India CSR): Chaitanya Projects Consultancy Limited, an infrastructure consultancy company, has established three libraries for students of Municipal Corporation of Delhi primary schools in South Shahdara, Delhi, through Project Pustakalaya in partnership with Anandaya Foundation to support reading, creativity and foundational learning.
The libraries were inaugurated on June 12, 2026. The initiative has been implemented as part of CPCL’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) commitment to education and community development.
The three libraries have been created as dedicated reading spaces inside MCD primary schools. They provide students access to books across different subjects and interests.
According to the company, the spaces are designed to encourage children to read, explore ideas and engage with learning beyond the classroom.
The inauguration was attended by Nikhil Tiwari, Director (Education), MCD; Anil Kumar, DDE (R&E); and Rupa Sinha, Executive Director, Chaitanya Projects Consultancy Limited. School principals, teachers and students also participated.
During the event, students explored the bookshelves and reading corners. The school community also expressed interest in using the libraries as learning spaces.
One of the school principals said the school had long awaited a library of its own. The comment underlined the relevance of reading infrastructure in public schools, particularly for young learners.
“Education has the power to transform lives, and books play a vital role in shaping young minds. Through Project Pustakalaya, we wanted to create spaces where children can discover new ideas, expand their perspectives, and develop a lasting connection with learning,” said Rupa Sinha, Executive Director of Chaitanya Projects Consultancy Limited.
She said the libraries are an investment in the future and can help nurture creativity, confidence and curiosity among students. “At CPCL, we believe that creating meaningful impact goes beyond infrastructure development and extends to strengthening communities through education and opportunity,” she said.
Jaishree Kishan Goyal, Founder, Anandaya Foundation, said, “We are pleased to collaborate on Project Pustakalaya and support efforts to create engaging learning environments for students. We hope these libraries encourage children to explore, learn, and grow through reading.”
The company said Project Pustakalaya is aligned with its broader commitment to community development and social impact through education-focused interventions.
The initiative seeks to strengthen school learning ecosystems by improving access to books and creating child-friendly spaces for knowledge engagement.
