Significant Investments and Widespread Impact through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Activities

MUMBAI, India (India CSR): Vedanta Limited, a global natural resources company, has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable development by significantly investing in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives during the fiscal year 2024. The company made an impressive CSR spend of Rs. 438 crore during FY 2023-24. This effort benefited 17.40 million individuals. Vedanta’s initiatives span various sectors, including healthcare, education, environment, and women empowerment.

Vedanta has launched over 150 high-impact CSR initiatives. These efforts are diverse and targeted, addressing the unique needs of different communities. From health camps and educational programs to environmental projects and women empowerment initiatives, Vedanta’s CSR activities are comprehensive and far-reaching.

Growth of Vedanta Limited’s CSR Expenditure (FY20 – FY24)

Led by Chairman Anil Agarwal, Vedanta Limited has demonstrated a consistent increase in its CSR investments over the past five years. The table below illustrates the growth of unaudited CSR expenditure from FY20 to FY24:

Building on a Strong Foundation

Vedanta’s commitment builds on a consistent effort to drive positive social impact. Since 2020, in the last five years, the company has spent over Rs. 1900 crore on CSR activities.

Reaching Over 1200 Villages

Through diverse and impactful programs, Vedanta has reached over 1200 villages across India. These efforts have made a tangible difference in the lives of millions. The company’s social responsibility extends beyond financial investment. Vedanta fosters partnerships with local communities, NGOs, and government agencies to create lasting and sustainable positive change.

Led by Chairman Anil Agarwal, Vedanta Limited’s unaudited CSR expenditure for FY24 stands at Rs. 438 crore. This figure is part of a larger trend of increasing CSR investments over the past five years. From Rs. 296 crore in FY20 to Rs. 454 crore in FY23, Vedanta has steadily increased its CSR spending, totaling over Rs. 1900 crore since 2020.

Wide-reaching Impact

The impact of Vedanta’s CSR initiatives is vast. The company has reached approximately 1200 villages through its activities. These initiatives are designed to address critical issues and uplift communities across India.

Nand Ghar: Flagship Initiatives – Transforming Early Childhood Development

One of Vedanta’s flagship CSR initiatives is the ‘Nand Ghar’ program. This ambitious project aims to transform early childhood development in India. The program provides children with a nurturing environment focused on their health, nutrition, education, and overall well-being. Over 6000 Nand Ghars have been set up across India, providing crucial services to rural communities.
