Uttar Pradesh continues to strengthen its digital ecosystem with more than 1.85 lakh Common Service Centres (CSCs) delivering over 314 e-governance services, while a consumer base of over 24 crore smartphone users is driving domestic demand.
NEW DELHI (India CSR): Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the country’s largest electronics manufacturing hub, achieving a remarkable milestone in India’s electronics and mobile manufacturing sector. Today, nearly 65 percent of all mobile phones manufactured in India are produced in Uttar Pradesh.
The state has also become the country’s largest electronics component manufacturing hub, accounting for nearly 55 percent of national production, further strengthening its position in India’s high-tech manufacturing ecosystem.
The industrial clusters of Noida and Greater Noida have played a pivotal role in this transformation. Global brands including Samsung, Oppo, Vivo and LG manufacture mobile phones in the state, while leading OEMs and ODMs such as Dixon Technologies, Optiemus, Padget Electronics, Zetwerk and Bhagwati Products (Micromax) have established large-scale operations, making Uttar Pradesh an integral part of the global electronics supply chain.
65% of the country’s mobile phones are manufactured in Uttar Pradesh
The state has also witnessed significant growth in electronics component manufacturing, with companies such as Samkwang, Holitech, KHY, Khvatec, Minda Corporation, JWorld, Shinsung C&T, Sunwoda and Dreamtech manufacturing critical components including PCBAs, displays and capacitors. Consumer electronics manufacturers such as Haier and Panasonic have also expanded their presence in the state.
The Yogi Government’s industry-friendly policies, including the Electronics Manufacturing Policy-2017 and its subsequent amendments, along with the Uttar Pradesh Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy-2025, have attracted investments exceeding Rs. 28,000 crore from more than 75 companies.
Further strengthening India’s semiconductor ambitions, Uttar Pradesh has secured approved investments worth Rs. 32,146 crore, including the landmark HCL-Foxconn Display Driver Chip Plant near Jewar.
State accounts for 55% of India’s electronics component manufacturing
The state’s electronics exports have also witnessed remarkable growth. From negligible exports in 2015, electronics exports reached USD 2.58 billion in FY 2022-23, contributing 16.65 percent of India’s total electronics exports. Smartphone exports alone touched USD 17.5 billion in FY 2024-25, establishing Uttar Pradesh as a key player in the global electronics export ecosystem.
