JHARSUGUDA: Sesa Sterlite Ltd (Formerly Vedanta Aluminium Ltd) Jharsuguda has been bestowed with two awards in the field of ‘Innovative efforts for Sustainable Growth’ and ‘Support and Improvement in Quality Education’ in the recently concluded Odisha CSR conclave on 17 January 2014 at Bhubaneswar.
Pritam Motilal, Amit Kumar along with Swati Chintagunti received the awards on behalf of the organization from Mr. Rajnikant Singh, Steel and Mines Minister, Govt. of Odisha.
More than 40 companies operating in various sectors including automobiles, refineries, power, steel, aluminium, cement and infrastructure etc. from across the country sent their nominations for the prestigious awards.
The organization has been bestowed for its innovative cooperative model for sustainable-livelihood opportunities under the project Vedanta Integrated Jan Jivika Yojana (VIJJY) and delivering excellence in strengthening the quality of education through project ‘Vedanta Vidyarthi Vikas Yojana (VVVY)’.
The CSR Conclave played host to different entities in the development sector like the Government, NGOs, and Corporate to discuss the way forward and best case practices to achieve the developmental goals in India.
