The Governments of India and Chhattisgarh have a strong focus to provide piped water supply in rural areas. Some time it is seen that the drinking water supply infrastructure in Rural areas do not function due to non-availability of electric supply and thus extra efforts need to be taken to improve piped water coverage.
To address the problem Government of India has brought a successful and innovative scheme in which a single phased 1 HP solar energy based submersible pump is installed in a high yielding borewell, which already is attached to a hand pump. Water pumped from the system can be stored in an elevated tank and water is provided to children in school through Tap connections. The main feature of this system is that it does not require electric supply or batteries. The system operates through Solar panel.
Large Number of Community members along with Sarpanch and Upsarpanch thanked GCEL for extending support in installing the drinking water facilities available for children in school and over all development through CSR Activities. The team of community members also visited Nutrition Centre, a centre run by Foundation, where supplementary nutrition is given to pregnant and lactating women. They have provided nutritious food to the women.
