Reliance Foundation, Reliance Foundation Hospital Trust, Vividh Kridakhel Foundation and other institutions emerged as key recipients of RIL’s CSR support
MUMBAI: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) spent Rs. 1,223 crore on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in FY 2025-26, with several foundations, trusts and social institutions receiving significant CSR support for initiatives in healthcare, education, sports, livelihood, environment, animal welfare and community development.
The company’s CSR expenditure stood above its statutory obligation of Rs. 1,032 crore, resulting in an excess spend of Rs. 191 crore. RIL also reported that there was no unspent CSR amount for the year requiring transfer to the Unspent CSR Account or any Schedule VII fund.
Reliance Foundation Receives Rs. 155 Crore
Reliance Foundation remained one of the most important CSR implementation and beneficiary institutions for RIL. The company contributed Rs. 155 crore to Reliance Foundation during FY 2025-26.
Reliance Foundation plays a central role in implementing RIL’s large-scale CSR initiatives across rural transformation, health, education, sports, women empowerment, disaster response, environment and cultural development. The Foundation’s work reflects the company’s ‘We Care’ philosophy and its focus on scale, impact and sustainability.
Reliance Foundation Hospital Trust Gets Rs. 94 Crore
Healthcare was a major CSR priority for RIL in FY 2025-26. The company contributed Rs. 94 crore to Reliance Foundation Hospital Trust.
This allocation is significant because RIL’s overall healthcare CSR spending increased sharply during the year. Healthcare received Rs. 179 crore in FY 2025-26, compared to Rs. 92 crore in the previous year. The rise indicates a stronger emphasis on medical care, health infrastructure and access to quality healthcare.
Vividh Kridakhel Foundation Receives Rs. 108 Crore for Sports
RIL contributed Rs. 108 crore to Vividh Kridakhel Foundation during FY 2025-26. This made it one of the largest institutional recipients of CSR funds from the company.
Sports for Development has emerged as a formal CSR focus area for RIL. The company spent Rs. 115 crore on Sports for Development during the year. This shows that a major portion of sports-related CSR spending was routed through institutional implementation.
The allocation reflects RIL’s effort to position sports as a development tool for youth, discipline, inclusion and grassroots talent creation.
Vividh Hunarvikas Foundation Receives Rs. 22 Crore
RIL contributed Rs. 22 crore to Vividh Hunarvikas Foundation in FY 2025-26.
The name and nature of the institution indicate a focus on skill development and livelihood-linked interventions. This is relevant because Education and Skill Development was the second-largest CSR category for the company, receiving Rs. 229 crore during the year.
Skill development remains an important CSR area as India continues to focus on employability, vocational training and youth empowerment.
Sir Hurkisondas Nurrotumdas Hospital & Research Centre Gets Rs. 24 Crore
RIL provided Rs. 24 crore to Sir Hurkisondas Nurrotumdas Hospital & Research Centre during FY 2025-26.
The contribution adds to the company’s healthcare-linked CSR portfolio. Healthcare received the third-largest sectoral allocation after Environment, Ecology and Animal Welfare and Education and Skill Development.
The support to hospital and research institutions reflects the company’s focus on health service delivery and institutional healthcare capacity.
Jamnaben Hirachand Ambani Foundation Receives Rs. 18 Crore
The company contributed Rs. 18 crore to Jamnaben Hirachand Ambani Foundation during FY 2025-26.
The contribution was lower than the previous year, when the foundation received Rs. 188 crore. This shows a clear shift in the company’s CSR allocation pattern in FY 2025-26, with a much larger share going towards Environment, Ecology and Animal Welfare.
Other Beneficiary Institutions
RIL also contributed Rs. 7 crore to Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation and Rs. 3 crore to Hirachand Govardhandas Ambani Public Charitable Trust.
Reliance Foundation Youth Sports received Rs. 2 crore during the year. In the previous year, this institution had received Rs. 17 crore.

Related Party Contributions Show Institutional CSR Model
The CSR fund flow shows that RIL follows a strong institutional model for CSR implementation. The company works through foundations, hospital trusts, skill development institutions and sports-focused entities.
This approach allows large-scale implementation, specialised delivery and stronger programme management. It also shows how corporate CSR funds are channelled into structured institutions that can work across multiple development themes.
Environment-Led Shift Changes CSR Allocation Pattern
Although Reliance Foundation and other institutions remained key recipients, the larger CSR pattern in FY 2025-26 shows a strong shift toward environment and animal welfare.
Environment, Ecology and Animal Welfare received Rs. 640 crore, accounting for more than half of RIL’s total CSR spend. This made it the dominant CSR category of the year.
The shift is important because several other categories saw lower spending compared to the previous year. Education and Skill Development declined from Rs. 427 crore to Rs. 229 crore, while Sports for Development declined from Rs. 290 crore to Rs. 115 crore.
Healthcare Funding Sees Sharp Increase
Healthcare emerged as one of the strongest growth areas in RIL’s CSR portfolio. Spending in the healthcare category increased from Rs. 92 crore in FY 2024-25 to Rs. 179 crore in FY 2025-26.
The contribution of Rs. 94 crore to Reliance Foundation Hospital Trust and Rs. 24 crore to Sir Hurkisondas Nurrotumdas Hospital & Research Centre indicates that institutional healthcare delivery remained a key implementation route.
Sports Funding Remains Important Despite Decline
Sports for Development received Rs. 115 crore in FY 2025-26. While this was lower than the previous year’s Rs. 290 crore, the sector remained an important CSR area.
Vividh Kridakhel Foundation received Rs. 108 crore, making it the largest sports-linked institutional recipient. This shows that even with reduced overall spending in sports, RIL continued to support structured sports development.
