O.P Jindal School Celebrates its Annual Function

ANGUL (Odisha): O.P. Jindal School (OPJS) celebrated its 4th Annual Function today at its Campus in presence of children, parents, and several other dignitaries of the locality. The functions commenced with the lighting of the lamp by President & Head of JSPL Power Plant Mr. V.K Rastogi, followed by Saraswati Vandana by the School choir. Mr. Damodar Mittal (Sr. Vice-President of JSPL), Dr. Saroj Mahapatra [Vice-President (HR)], Prof. Santanu Kumar Sar, HOD -English, Government Autonomous College, Angul, and Mrs. Sujata Saraogi ,President Jindal Mahila Samiti graced the occasion as Guests of Honour.
damodar mittal and sujata sarogiUnveiling the School Magazine ‘Voyage’ Chief Guest of the Programme Mr. VK Rastogi said, “Education is the backbone of a nation and quality education helps the students not only to lead a decent life but also makes them a respectable citizen of the country”. He appreciated the efforts the entire team of School teachers for imparting quality education to the young inmates.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Damodar Mittal Sr. Vice-President of JSPL. Dignitaries of JSPL, parents, teachers and students of OPJS enjoyed the sparkling event with much zeal and zest. Principal of the School Mr. Chhanda Charana Das presented the Annual Report (2013-14) of the school and highlighted the school’s progress in academic and non-academic areas.
In his message, Executive Director and Angul Location Head of JSPL Angul and Chairman of School Managing Committee Mr. Dinesh Kumar Saraogi said, “Along with the school teachers and parents have equal responsibilities in the education of children as well as building the school. With their joint effort we can make OP Jindal School one of the leading schools in Odisha in terms of imparting quality education and building character of students.

Also on the occasion, the winners of different competitions were given away prizes and certificates by the guests. The programme ended with impressive cultural programme by Students of OP Jindal School.

Of all the programmes Odissi Dance, Shivtandav, English & Hindi Plays, Samveg, Puppet Dance, etc presented by the school students in the evening won all hearts and were highly applauded. As a mark of respect to the motherland National Anthem was sung in presence of large audience and students.

The presence of other eminent dignitaries including Mr. SK Agarwal, (Sr. VP); Mr. C.D Mathew, AVP (HR); Mr. S.K. Sharma, Sr. General Manager (LA & PR), Mr. Ashish Pandey (DGM);Dr. Brajendra Kumar Das, Chief Medical Officer; Mr. Bikram Keshari Pattasahani, G.M., (Admin.) and other department heads of the JSPL plant made this programme a memorable one. A cordial Vote of Thanks was presented by Mrs. Sangeeta Sharma.
