In an emotional address, Reliance Foundation Chairperson Smt. Nita M. Ambani described Anant Ashray as a lifelong home built on care, dignity and belonging.

MUMBAI (India CSR): Smt. Nita M. Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, has shared an emotional vision for the Nita Mukesh Ambani Anant Ashray, describing it as a lifelong home for children, elderly people and persons with disabilities.

Speaking during the Bhumi Pujan ceremony, Nita Ambani said Anant Ashray would be a loving community where people receive care, companionship, support and opportunities to live with dignity.

She said the initiative would include a home for orphaned children, an old-age home for senior citizens and lifelong support for children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities.

Nita Ambani said the community would support more than 5,000 people through different stages of life. She described the project as a place where residents would find love, care and a sense of family.

The address carried the emotion of a mother’s concern for children who need lifelong support. Nita Ambani said Anant Ashray was her family’s humble effort to answer the fears of parents who constantly worry about their children’s future.

A Mother Speaks

Nita Ambani began her address by saying that the foundation-stone ceremony marked a beautiful beginning on her birthday. She said she was laying the foundation with God’s blessings, gratitude and the support of Mukesh Ambani and her entire family.

She said that, as a mother, she understood that every parent wants their child to remain happy, safe and healthy. She said this desire becomes even deeper for parents raising children who need continuous care.

“Every child deserves that love and security,” Nita Ambani said, adding that this remains true even when a child has no parent beside them.

She said elderly people who have spent their lives caring for others also deserve affection, patience, respect and comfort in their later years.

However, Nita Ambani said the deepest anxiety is often felt by parents of children requiring lifelong care. She said one question stays permanently in the hearts of such parents.

“Who will understand their needs?” she asked. “Who will notice their pain?”

She said parents grow older, their children grow older, but this worry remains with them. Nita Ambani said Anant Ashray would seek to create a family for people who have lost theirs or never experienced the comfort of one.

A Lifelong Promise

Nita Ambani said Anant Ashray would be a place where children receive education, grow up safely and follow their dreams. She said the proposed community would give children opportunities to learn, make friends and discover their abilities.

She said elderly residents would be offered respect, companionship and the reassurance that their needs and wishes would be lovingly cared for.

Nita Ambani said the community would bring medical support together with the warmth of family life. She envisioned residents living close to nature, surrounded by flora, fauna, gardens and peaceful spaces.

She said every person should have someone who understands their everyday preferences. That includes knowing how they like their food, their favourite songs and the moments that make them smile.

For Nita Ambani, this personal familiarity is what makes a house feel like a home. She said Anant Ashray would seek to create that warmth for people who may have felt abandoned, alone or uncertain about the future.

She also said residents would have opportunities to make choices, form friendships and participate in shared celebrations. Her vision was not limited to providing shelter or treatment.

She described Anant Ashray as a community where every life would be valued and every resident would have a permanent place to call home.

Care With Dignity

Nita Ambani said Anant Ashray would include a hospital and rehabilitation centre with doctors, nurses and therapists. She said specialist care would be available for residents who need medical, therapeutic and emotional support.

She spoke about gardens, shaded pathways and spaces for learning, music, art and sport. According to her, these spaces would help residents experience joy, creativity, companionship and personal growth.

Nita Ambani said the community would create opportunities for people to work, make friends and discover their abilities. She said dignity comes from being recognised not only as someone receiving care, but also as someone capable of contributing.

She described Anant Ashray as a place where compassionate care would meet the warmth of family life. Her speech emphasised that medical support should not separate people from everyday happiness, relationships and belonging.

She said the project would seek to offer peace, calm, hope, healing and compassion. These values, she added, would guide the work ahead as the project takes shape.

Nita Ambani also said the proposed community would offer a secure environment for people with disabilities, children needing homes and elderly people needing comfort.

***

A Living Community

Nita Ambani said the heart of Anant Ashray would be a temple dedicated to Ganpati Bappa, whom she described as Vighnaharta. She said residents would gather there for prayers, festivals, birthdays and shared moments of happiness.

She said the community would celebrate every small and big achievement together. Equally, she said residents would face difficult times together, with support and solidarity.

Her words reflected a vision of care that is deeply social and emotional. Nita Ambani said no child should grow up without love and support.

She also said no elderly person should feel alone or forgotten. These two hopes formed the central emotional message of her address.

Nita Ambani described Anant Ashray as a community that would stand beside residents throughout life. She said it would offer a secure home where people could live with care, respect and hope.

She called the Bhumi Pujan only the beginning. She said much work remains ahead, and the initiative would move forward with humility, dedication and wholehearted effort.

***

Prayer For India

Nita Ambani ended her address with a prayer for the strength to fulfil this commitment. She described Anant Ashray as a mother’s offering at the feet of Bharat Mata.

Her closing words captured the spirit of the initiative: one home, one family and lifelong companionship.

Through Anant Ashray, Nita Ambani said she hopes to create a sanctuary of peace, love, healing and compassion. She said the proposed community would seek to ensure that people of every age can look forward to each new day with hope.

The project’s central message, as expressed by Nita Ambani, is that care must go beyond service delivery. It must create family, familiarity, dignity and a lifelong sense of belonging.
