Organized by the debating society of Neerja Modi School, Jaipur, the 12th edition of The Jaipur Debate was held from July 30 to August 1, bringing together some of India’s leading debating teams of bright young debaters together on one national platform. Over three days, young passionate debaters competed in a demanding contest of argument, analysis and persuasion.
This championship was conducted in both the junior and senior categories, thereby giving the emerging speakers as well as the more experienced debaters distinct platforms to present their thoughts with reason and clarity. Every round demanded preparation, presence of mind and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
This championship modeled around the Asian Parliamentary format rewarded substance as much as style. A confident speech alone was not enough: participants had to identify the central issue, establish why their position mattered, respond to rebuttals and continually adapt as each debate developed.
The motions spanned contemporary issues across politics, international relations, economics, culture, society and global affairs. These subjects required students to examine questions that rarely had simple or universally accepted answers. Participants had to consider competing values, assess consequences and argue positions that differed from their personal views. The championship not only required public speaking skills , but also intellectual flexibility and the willingness to engage seriously with opposing perspectives.
The event provided a unique opportunity to passionate debaters to learn, collaborate and build lasting friendships with passionate debaters from all parts of the country. This exchange strengthened the championship’s national character, turning each round into an ocean of experiences.
Through 12 editions, The Jaipur Debate has built a distinct competitive identity—one that draws prepared teams from across India and carries increasingly high expectations within the school debating circuit.
By bringing India’s young debaters together for its 12th edition, Neerja Modi School once again provided a prominent stage for competitive thought and intellectual exchange. The Jaipur Debate 2026 celebrated a generation prepared not merely to speak, but to question, analyse and defend its ideas with clarity.
