CHENNAI (India CSR®): JM Frictech India Pvt. Ltd. (JMIL), one of India’s leading automotive component manufacturers specialising in mobility solutions for the off-highway sector, has launched ‘Vision for Tomorrow,’ a community-focused initiative through its JIVEN trust, aimed at improving access to sight-restoring treatment for underserved individuals.

The initiative, undertaken in partnership with the Rotary Club of Madras East and Aravind Eye Care System, was launched at Aravind Eye Care Hospital, Poonamallee, Chennai. As part of the programme, JMIL will invest Rs. 40 lakh over the next year to support 1,500 cataract surgeries and 50 corneal transplant procedures, helping individuals regain functional vision and lead more independent lives.

Vision for Tomorrow brings together Project PAARVAI and Project Punar PAARVAI under a shared mission to restore sight and improve lives across Tamil Nadu. Project PAARVAI will facilitate 1,500 free cataract surgeries, while Project Punar PAARVAI will support 50 corneal transplant procedures for underprivileged patients. Together, these interventions aim to address preventable blindness and bridge the gap between the availability of quality eye care and access to treatment.

Complementing these efforts, JIVEN Trust has already distributed more than 500 AI-powered vision glasses, valued at approximately Rs. 30,000 each, to individuals in need across Tamil Nadu, further strengthening the programme’s focus on improving access to vision care through technology and community partnerships.
