India’s Largest Inclusive STEM Competition to Feature Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis as Chief Guest

MUMBAI (India CSR): The 5th edition of the National STEM Challenge (NSC) 2024-25, India’s largest inclusive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) competition, is all set for its Grand Finale on August 18, 2025 at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Mumbai.

The two-day event will bring together the nation’s brightest young innovators from over 500 schools across India, showcasing their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and engineering skills through hands-on STEM models.

A Journey from Classrooms to the National Stage

The NSC has been a nationwide celebration of innovation. From local cluster competitions to zonal showcases, thousands of students have demonstrated their ability to solve real-world problems using STEM concepts. Now, all eyes are on Mumbai, where the top finalists will present their projects, embodying the spirit of collaboration, curiosity, and creativity.

STEM Learning and Brillio have described the journey as “a testament to the transformative power of STEM education”, enabling children from diverse backgrounds to not only learn science and technology but also apply them meaningfully.

Dignitaries to Inspire Young Innovators

Adding prestige to the event, Maharashtra’s Hon’ble Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will grace the Grand Finale as the Chief Guest. Known for his focus on education, technology, and youth empowerment, his presence is expected to inspire participants to envision a future where their innovations can shape India’s development.

Spotlight Event – The Speedy Car Challenge

One of the highlights of the Grand Finale will be the Speedy Car Challenge, featuring 10 student-built racers on one electrifying track. This adrenaline-filled competition, scheduled for August 18, will combine engineering design, speed optimization, and competitive spirit — giving students a platform to showcase their practical skills and creativity.

Nationwide Representation

The NSC 2025 finalists represent a diverse spread of talent from across the country, including:

Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Punjab, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh.

This pan-India participation underscores the inclusive vision of the competition — ensuring that innovation has no boundaries, whether geographical or socio-economic.

Empowering the Next Generation

The curators of the National STEM Challenge believe that platforms like the NSC are crucial to nurturing India’s future innovators. By offering opportunities for hands-on learning, teamwork, and exposure to national-level competition, such initiatives aim to bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world applications.

As the Grand Finale approaches, the excitement is building, and the stage is set for India’s young problem-solvers to shine.

CSR and STEM Education in India

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has emerged as a vital driver in promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education across India, particularly in underserved and rural regions. Many companies are channeling their CSR funds into programs that provide students with access to modern learning tools, robotics kits, science labs, and teacher training to bridge the gap between traditional education and future-ready skills. Initiatives like the National STEM Challenge highlight how CSR-backed efforts can empower young minds to innovate, solve real-world problems, and prepare for careers in technology-driven industries. By integrating STEM into CSR agendas, corporates are not only contributing to the nation’s educational development but also fostering a generation of problem-solvers and innovators who can drive India’s growth in the global knowledge economy.
