World Environment Day was celebrated at Utkal Alumina International Limited, Rayagada in Odisha, as a part of awareness towards environment protection and sustainable development. A rally was organized by Aditya Birla Public School and Environmental Pledge was taken by the students followed by mass plantation near Nuapada Township.
Similar Rally was driven by staff and officials in the plant premises followed by massive plantation near power plant. Utakalina Ladies Club has also organized massive plantation at Oshapada Township.
On this eve, the valedictory ceremony will be celebrated on 6th June 2019 involving workers, staff, officials, ladies & children to aware about the burning environmental issues such as causes of air pollution& global warming, degradation of forests and extinction of flora & fauna, ground water depletion and how to ban use of polythene in the campus and adoption of domestic habits to save environment.
N Nagesh Unit Head & President inaugurated the programme with Mass plantation at Plant site in presence of other Executive and staff of the plant.
Similarly, BRK Padhi, VP Mines inaugurated the world environment day in Mines top and started mass plantation in presence of all mines staff and workers.
