SINGRAULI (Madhya Pradesh): Teacher’s Day is a special day for appreciation of teachers, which includes celebrations to honor them for their special contributions to the community in general.
India has celebrated the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radha krishnan, 5 September, since 1962, although Hindus, Jains and Buddhists have been honoring teachers by celebrating Guru Poornima since centuries.
In coordination with the District Education Department, Singrauli, M.P. Sikshak Samman Samaroh was celebrated at Excellent Public School, Barenia. During the said event several informative speeches on the importance of a teacher in the society, his contribution in the society was shared by several delegates. On this occasion 60 teachers from the Deosar Block got awarded for their contribution in the field of education.
The program was concluded by a colorful cultural program by students from several schools. Additional Superintendent of Police, Singrauli – Suryakant Sharma; Unit Head – Ratan Somani & Head HR – Bishwanath Mukherjee were chief guests of the program.
On this occasion Addl. SP congratulated Mahan Management for optimum use of CSR resources for the benefit of the poorer sections of the society. Amid the presence of big shots like NTPC, NCL, Reliance & Essar, the work of Hindalco CSR is visible and has high impact on the society. Subsequently he motivated the children to respect and follow their teachers always. He said team work, discipline and happiness are the key to successful life.
Similarly Unit Head Mahan – Ratan Somani said that, “what we are today is because of our teachers”. Teachers play a vital role in shaping the future of any generation and shall continue do the same in days to come. Paying rich tributes to India’s second President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary, Somani said there is no better service to the nation than spreading knowledge and enlightening someone’s life with the light of education.
Terming teaching as the best vocation in the world, Head HR, Bishwanath Mukherjee said there is a teacher behind every successful person and it is the only profession which gives rise to all other professions. A person’s life is incomplete without a teacher who not only teaches him textbook education but also inculcates leadership qualities, self-confidence, enthusiasm, positivity and courage to deal with any difficult situation in life, he added.
