This new initiative will be undertaken under the Vadodara Urban Development Authority covering Dumad village, which will generate income for the unemployed, as well as income to the Gram Panchayat from its sale, thus making the project sustainable.
The company is employing electric vehicles to collect waste from decentralised locations and transport them to centralised composter, the release said. The composter will be operated by wind and solar energy.
The unit will be generating liquid fertiliser as well as compost which will then be sold/distributed to the farmers to promote organic farming.
