NEW DELHI (India CSR): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed its 20th chargesheet in the ongoing investigation into alleged large-scale cheating of homebuyers. The chargesheet names M/s Ajnara India Limited, its promoters and directors, and 15 public servants associated with four banks and financial institutions. The chargesheet relates to the Ajnara Ambrosia housing project at Plot No. GH-01, Sector-118, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It has been filed before the Special Judge for CBI cases at Rouse Avenue District Courts, New Delhi.

According to the CBI, its investigation found that the accused builder company and its promoters and directors allegedly induced homebuyers and investors through false assurances and fraudulent representations. The agency alleged that financial benefits were obtained through illegal and deceptive means. The chargesheet has been filed under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The allegations covered include criminal conspiracy, cheating and criminal breach of trust. The filing of a chargesheet represents the CBI’s findings following its investigation; the allegations are subject to adjudication by the competent court.
