New Delhi: Jubilant Ingrevia Limited has been recognized with the India CSR Award 2022 for Community Health (Winner) for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives Project Arogya-Reaching out to Vulnerable communities at the 11th India CSR Awards held in New Delhi on December 17, 2022.
The award recognizes Jubilant’s health initiatives that are oriented towards providing effective basic healthcare to the communities around its manufacturing locations in India, which are based in remote locations.
The company was honored at the 13th India CSR Leadership Summit by Chief Guest Shri R.K. Sinha, Honorable Former Rajya Sabha Member and Founder & CMD of Security & Intelligence Services (India) Limited (SIS), in the presence of Dr. Shalini Rajneesh, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka, and Rusen Kumar, Founder and Managing Editor of India CSR.
Jubilant, under the realm of Corporate Social Responsibility, is working towards supplementing already stretched Government-led health programs at remote locations in the country.
The basic healthcare projects are reaching out to around 4.5 lacs of population spread across more than 180 villages, based at 4 different geographical regions around manufacturing locations. The goal of the program is to promote health-seeking behavior and provide effective basic healthcare to the community.
The key objective of the health program is to extend to vulnerable communities with a lack of good health services and basic information about diseases, along with providing preventive and curative health services in the project areas.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is deeply imbued in Jubilant’s approach towards sustainable development where ‘community’ is considered as one of its apex stakeholders. CSR is the commitment of the company to contribute towards inclusive growth.
Taking forward its promise of Caring, Sharing, Growing, Jubilant established Jubilant Bhartia Foundation (JBF) in 2007 as a not-for-profit organization under section 8 of the Companies Act. The activities of JBF are driven towards channeling resources for bringing measurable social change in the community and adding value to the lives of people it works with. The foundation is active in the realm of accessible & affordable basic healthcare, education & digital literacy in rural areas, enhancing sustainable livelihoods and promoting social enterprises in India.
