MUMBAI: Recognizing his efforts and outstanding contribution to the filed of CSR management, Rushin Patel, working with CSR Department at HDFC Bank, has been honored with India CSR Professional of the Year Awards at India CSR summit held in Mumbai on May 26, 2017.
In June 2015, Rushin joined HDFC Bank’s CSR Department, and has been successfully leading and executing various CSR initiatives of the Bank, like Schools Sanitation and WASH program, Skills Development Program, HRDP villages program and Rural Innovation Initiatives in multiple states.
He has made effective contribution to Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan by designing and executing innovative and sustainable Sanitation programmes, in partnership with various NGOs, in more than 500 schools in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Through various skill development programmes under his guidance, thousands of rural youth and women across India have been engaged in gainful enterprises and employment.
He has a keen eye on innovations and finding solutions for various challenges faced by rural populations. Recognizing the need to reduce drudgery and help women fetch clean water in water strapped households, he has successfully introduced water wheels to more than 4000 households in 5 states.
Being a strategic thought leader, he has been instrumental in developing core strategy for holistic rural development program (HRDP) in line with the Bank’s CSR policy for projects implemented in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. He has been responsible for rolling out Bank’s HRDP initiatives in more than 250 villages in different states, including north-eastern states.
He has been able to develop core strength and strategy to create replicable, sustainable and ownership-based initiatives with support, contribution and convergence with available Govt. schemes in the areas of operation.
