MUMBAI: United Way Mumbai conducted a Let’s READ event in Sion Mumbai Public School, on the December 14, 2017.

The event, supported by IFFCO Tokio, aimed to bring the world of story books and reading under one roof for the school children.

The children were also treated to a day filled with fun, learning and the magic and wonder of books, through two storytelling sessions, conducted by gifted professional storytellers. The sessions were interactive, bringing the stories to life for the children, who participated enthusiastically, throughout. Art and craft activities helped the children picturize their favourite stories and also stressed the importance of activity based learning.

The school children, who come from marginalized communities, were given a set of five new beautifully designed and culturally relevant books that they could take home. At the event, 320 books were distributed to 64 children and 1 mini library consisting of 125 story books was donated to the school.
