Hindalco Organizes Mega Health Camp at Hirakud

HIRAKUD (Odisha): A day long Mega Health Camp was organized by Hindalco Industries Ltd under its Corporate Social Responsibility Programme on Sunday at Jamda UP school, Hirakud.

The camp was aimed at treating and providing medical attention to inhabitants of Plant peripheral area besides an open invitation to all residents of Hirakud NAC. Over 18 Medical Specialists Doctors from Medicine, Skin, Eye, Orthopedics, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Surgery from Veer Surendra Sai Medical College Hospital Burla and Sambalpur and resident Doctors of Hindalco attended the camp.

Over One Thousand one hundred Patients were given free treatment and medicines. Many Octogenarians, Women with children, handicapped villagers with help of their relatives and others came to seek the medical assistance and free check-up. The sheer number of patients who turned up during the day was remarkable.

With the dawn of the day Hirakud geared up to host the Mega Health Camp and with Flower Bouquets the panel of Doctors and Parmedical staff were welcomed by Hirakud residents and especially the women folk that gave the camp a festive look.

Pradip Kumar Rath DM & Collector Sambalpur, Sandip Roy Head Hindalco FRP together with Kalyani Bhoi Chairman Hirakud NAC and Prafulla Nanda Senior Resident of Hirakud inaugurated the Health camp by lighting of the sacred Lamp. Speaking during the inauguration Rath praised Hindalco for CSR activities in which the general public gets benefited. He insisted the company and for that matter all other industries in the region must continue with more such type of sustained efforts.

Present during the Day Rakesh Mishra, Head HR Hindalco FRP said, “We have resolved to conduct such Camps for the benefit of our community and everywhere we have got huge success in meeting the expectations of the people. The sense of ownership that people from the community show during such camps by facilitating, participating and benefiting out of this is tremendous. We intend to take this relationship forward with more vigor in future.”

Present among others were Shivanand Mohanty DGM- External Affairs Hindalco Industries, Other senior Hindalco Officials together with over 50 volunteers from local hamlets, youth across Hirakud NAC and Members of Senior Citizen Group and Hirakud Lawyers’ forum.

Rakesh Mishra, thanked people especially the youth and Doctors for their enthusiastic support and participation and promised to initiate more such initiatives benefiting Hirakud.
