Clean India mission is required and necessary. India Govt would spend around Rs 2,00,000 crore over the next five years for the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The global sanitation forum is aligned to ‘Swachh Bharat Mission‘ (Clean India Initiative) of our visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  The Swachh Bharat Mission has been launched as a flagship programme on October 2, 2014 to achieve Swachh Bharat by October 2, 2019.Â
Building toilets was one of the major promises Prime Minister Narendra Modi made during his speech from the Red Fort ramparts in his first Independence Day address last year. Since open defecation is closely linked to diarrhoeal deaths, morbidity, poor education, malnutrition and poverty, the main focus of the programme in the first year has been accelerating efforts towards eradicating it. Towards this end, since the launch of Swachh Bharat, nearly 80 lakh toilets have been constructed. Â Almost 4.25 lakh toilets were built in 2.62 lakh schools nationwide in one year.
