Embassy Group Wins Dual Recognition at The Prestigious India CSR Leadership Summit 2018

BANGALORE: Embassy Group, India’s leading real estate developer won dual honours at the prestigious India CSR Leadership Summit, organized by India CSR Group.

Embassy Group were recognized for their exemplary CSR leadership and innovation and were conferred with the Community Initiative Award for their holistic program interventions in government schools in Bangalore.

They also won the runner-up award for the CMRU – India CSR Best CSR Inter-Company Collective Action Project for Collaboration.

The awards which honour outstanding and innovative CSR, sustainability and social enterprise projects were presented to the Embassy Group at the annual India CSR Leadership Summit & Awards in national capital New Delhi on April 27, 2018.

Expressing gratitude and joy at the Awards, Shaina Ganapathy, Head of Community Outreach at Embassy Group said, “These are significant awards as they endorse the very challenging work that we are doing through our educational interventions in Government school and their students. Our vision is to equip these students with the skills for future employability.

The award also acknowledges our collaboration with other corporates in the CSR space as we truly believe that collaboration with other stakeholders is the only way to increase the depth of our social impact and we aim to continue to identify corporates with whom we share synergies to broaden our reach.”

Commenting on the awards Jitu Virwani, Chairman & Managing Director of Embassy Group said, “These awards are a testimony to our commitment and earnest efforts in every sphere of our CSR programs and we would like to thank India CSR Group for honoring us. At Embassy, we have always believed that corporate responsibility has immense potential to transform the society and these awards have further reinforced our commitment towards meaningful, welfare driven initiatives that impact lives and make people future ready.”

The awards lauded Embassy Group’s commitment towards building a sustainable society.  Since 2012, The Embassy Group have adopted 17 government schools, in which they run educational and infrastructural initiatives for 7000 students. The realty group works collaboratively with NGO partner, Colours of Life, to supplement the existing government school framework and provide both infrastructure and program-based solutions to ensure that every child receives a well-rounded education. The education programs include math through computers, spoken English, e-classrooms with a special focus on English, social studies and science, life skills, year-round sports, interactive arts & craft and educational trips and are built with an attendance incentive in mind, to encourage students to actively participate.

Additionally, over the past one year, the Embassy Group have collaborated with over 11 other corporates from their various Office Parks in facilitating educational and sustainable infrastructure projects. This has included projects ranging from building new government schools together, upgradation of existing ones, implementing health & hygiene programs, and clean-up and beautification of public spaces. These initiatives have successfully mobilized over 900 corporate employee volunteers to create a positive impact in their city.
