BENGALURU (India CSR): ZEISS India is supporting the development of a new eco-friendly campus for Kingdom of Childhood, a Steiner Waldorf school located in Bannerghatta, Bengaluru, as part of a broader collaborative effort. As part of its CSR commitment, ZEISS India is contributing towards the construction of essential infrastructure elements, including fittings, doors, and window fixtures, to help create a safe, sustainable, and purpose-built learning environment.
The initiative is rooted in a progressive educational philosophy that blends ancient Gurukul wisdom with evidence-based practices. It emphasizes tailored learning plans, experiential methods, and nature-based education to nurture holistic development academic, emotional, social, and skill-based among neurotypical and neurodiverse children.
With an 18-year legacy in Waldorf education, the school currently operates from rented facilities and serves over 130 children across kindergarten, grades, and specialized curative education programs. The development of a dedicated campus is a critical step toward ensuring long-term stability, enabling expansion, and meeting infrastructure requirements for formal recognition and affiliations.
Once completed, the new campus will support a significantly larger student base, with the capacity to accommodate up to 400 students in mainstream Waldorf education and approximately 120 students in curative education programs. The purpose-built infrastructure will include customized classrooms, remedial learning spaces, and therapeutic activity areas designed to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Located in a nature-rich setting in Bannerghatta, the campus aligns with the school’s philosophy of integrating the environment into the learning process, fostering a deeper connection between students and nature. Through this initiative, ZEISS India continues to strengthen its commitment to driving meaningful social impact by supporting inclusive and sustainable community development in collaboration with like-minded partners.
